Istanbul-Armenian writer: Armenian churches always come under attack in Turkey
Istanbul-Armenian writer Hayko Bagdat has reflected on the recent racist, nationalist attack against an Armenian church in Turkey on his Twitter page.
The writer noted that Armenian churches constantly become targets of nationalist attacks in Turkey, Panorama.am reports.
“Attacks on Armenian churches during election periods [in Turkey] have become routine,” Bagdat tweeted. “If you ask them, one would say it’s Ergenekon, the other – it’s political Islam…But such things always happen.”
Seçim dönemleri Ermeni kiliselerine saldırı olması rutindir. Ona sorarsanız Ergenekon, buna sorarsanız siyasi islam, öbürüne sorarsanız dış mihraklar...

Ama hep olur işte...
Surp Takavor Armenian Church in the Kadıköy district of Istanbul became the victim of a nationalist attack in Turkey overnight April 30, the Turkish Minute reported, citing Cumhuriyet.
According to the report, graffiti reading “This country belongs to us” was scrawled on the exterior wall of the church, while garbage was dumped at the entrance of the church.
Religious and ethnic minorities have increasingly been targets of hate speech and racist attacks in Turkey.
