Pashinyan responds to MP questions as the National Assembly electing new PM
The Armenian National Assembly is holding a special sitting on the item of the country’s Prime Minister’s election. The leader of “My Step” movement, the Head of Yelq opposition fraction Nikol Pashinyan is the only candidate nominated for the post of Prime Minister.
The sitting started with the speech of Yelq member Ararat Mirzoyan who introduced the candidate and presented the biography of Nikol Pashinyan. After that, PM candidate Nikol Pashinyan took the floor and delivered remarks about the movement, the political situation in Armenia and his vision and short-term initiatives to be implement in the post of temporary Prime Minister should the parliament approves his candidacy.
Pashinyan’s speech was followed by Q/A session, as 26 deputies have registered to ask questions to Pashinyan.
To remind, Armenia’s parliament is electing a new prime minister with Nikol Pashinyan nominated as the only candidate for the post. The Republican party holds majority in the parliament and Pashinyan’s election is possible only at the expense of at least six votes from the Republicans.
