No quorum in parliament, session not convened
Today’s session of the regular four-day sitting of the Armenian National Assembly was not convened due to a failure to ensure the necessary quorum.
Only 33 MPs were registered within four hours after its opening.
Earlier on Wednesday Speaker Ara Babloyan cited Article 51.4 of the law “On Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”, reminding the registration of the lawmakers will continue until there is a quorum, but no longer than four hours.
Under the law, a session of the parliament can be convened in case 53 out of the 105 MPs are registered.
