Protesters allow ambulance through as they block streets in Armenia’s capital
Protesters blocking streets in Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, allow the ambulance to pass through without any obstacles, Director of Ambulance CJSC Taguhi Stepanyan told Panorama.am, adding, however, ambulances are facing difficulties to move forward when streets are shut down by cars.
“When it is people who are blocking the streets, they allow the ambulance through, but when the streets happen to be blocked by vehicles, it takes longer to get to patients,” she said.
She informed that the ambulance service responded to some 637 calls on 28 April, 661 calls – on 29 April, 643 calls – on 30 April and 635 calls on May 1, which, according to the officials, are high figures.
