PM candidate Pashinyan continues to meet with Armenia-accredited diplomats
Head of Yelk opposition faction Nikol Pashinyan who was nominated on Thursday as candidate to the post of Armenia’s prime minister, continues to meet with diplomats accredited to Armenia.
In particular, he held meetings with Deputy Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Ali Naser Sobhanipour and UN Resident Representative in Armenia Shombi Sharp on Friday, Pashinyan said in a post on Facebook.
“Today, I held a meeting with Deputy Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Ali Naser Sobhanipour (Ambassador Seyyed Kazem Sajjad is not in Armenia).
I informed the deputy ambassador on the agreements reached over dealing with the crisis, as well as conveyed my friendly message to the people and government of Iran,” reads the post.
“I also held a meeting with UN Resident Representative in Armenia Shombi Sharp. We discussed issues related to making UN-implemented programs more effective in Armenia,” he said.
The Armenian National Assembly is scheduled to hold the second round of PM elections on May 8, since the MPs voted down Nikol Pashinyan’s bid for prime minister during the 1 May vote.
