Armenia’s PM asks president to sack police, NSS chiefs
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has proposed President Armen Sarkissian to relieve the police chief and the director of the National Security Service (NSS) from their duties.
“I have just signed the proposal addressed to the President of Armenia about the dismissal of Vladimir Gasparyan from the post of the Chief of Armenian Police and Georgy Kutoyan – of the Director of the NSS,” Pashinyan said in a post on Facebook.
The Armenian National Assembly voted 59 to 41 to elect protest leader Nikol Pashinyan as the country’s new prime minister at the May 8 special session.
