Artsakh soldier wounded in Azerbaijani fire in critical condition
A soldier of the Artsakh Defense Army seriously wounded on Sunday as a result of Azerbaijani gunfire is in critical condition, Gayane Hovhannisyan, the head of Military Medical Department of the Armenian Armed Forces, told reporters on Tuesday.
She said that the serviceman is in the intensive care unit hooked up to a ventilator, reports Panorama.am.
Hovhannisyan also noted that the soldier was taken to Stepanakert hospital, where he underwent a surgery.
“After his condition stabilized he was transferred to Yerevan’s Central Military hospital. At the moment there is no need for another surgery; the process will show,” she said.
The soldier identified as Shamkhal S. Petrosyan, 20, was wounded on May 13, at around 10:35pm local time, at the protection area of a military unit in the northern direction of the Artsakh-Azerbaijani Line of Contact.
