Armenian MP: "Artsakh has a right to independence as much as Slovakia, Armenia or Azerbaijan"
Deputy Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly, the Head of Armenia-Slovakia Friendship Group Eduard Sharmazanov met today with the Head of Slovakia-Armenia Friendship Group Dušan Tittel within the framework of the visit to Slovakia.
The sides touched upon the perspectives of the development of bilateral relations, highlighting the effective cooperation of the parliamentary delegations of the two countries on international platforms, the parliament’s press service said.
Deputy Speaker Sharmazanov expressed his gratitude to Dušan Tittel for supporting the organization of the exhibition titled “Parliamentarians against Genocides” in the Parliament of Slovakia. He highly appreciated the recognition and condemnation of the Armneian Genocide by Slovakia’s parliament.
Commenting on the regional developments Sharmazanov underlined: “We, the parliamentarians, should reject any manifestation of violence and xenophobia. Today, Turkey and Azerbaijan carry out anti-Armenian propaganda which is reprehensible. The international community should recognize the inseparable right of the Artsakh people to self-determination. Artsakh has a right to independence as much as Slovakia, Armenia or Azerbaijan.”
