Armenia’s defense minister hosts PACE co-rapporteurs
Defense Minister of Armenia Davit Tonoyan on Friday received Giuseppe Galati (Italy, EPP/CD) and Yuliya Lovochkina (Ukraine, SOC), the co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Armenia.
They discussed the ongoing and planned events as part of the “Strengthening the application of European human rights standards in the Armed Forces in Armenia” project, which is implemented in cooperation with the Council of Europe, the Defense Ministry told Panorama.am.
Minister Tonoyan hailed the cooperation between Armenia’s Defense Ministry and PACE, attaching importance to raising awareness of human rights and social justice among conscripts and their parents, as well as the continuity of trainings for the officers and contract servicemen in the Armenian Armed Forces.
