Shirak Torosyan leaves Republican faction
MP Shirak Torosyan has announced a decision to leave the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction, meantime remaining as an independent lawmaker.
In a post on Facebook, he cited the ‘inconsistencies between the RPA and his personal views’, as well as the possible decision of his party – Powerful Armenia – to participate in the expected snap parliamentary elections in the future as the reasons behind his decision.
“I consider inappropriate to remain in the RPA faction and announce that I am leaving this faction, meantime continuing my parliamentary activity as an independent MP,” he said.
Earlier MP Artur Gevorgyan also announced his decision to leave the RPA faction.
