Foreign ministry says visa-liberalization with EU remains an agenda issue
“We remain consistent in the visa-liberalization dialogue with the European Union, and it is still an agenda issue,” Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Armen Papikyan stated on Thursday during the debates of the Execution of the RA State Budget for 2017.
The deputy minister reminded that the newly-adopted Armenia-EU declaration contains a provision about the launch of the visa-liberalization dialogue with Armenia at the right time.
“Both Armenia and the EU member states should implement an action plan. It refers to the implementation of the Agreement on the Readmission as well as Armenia’s readiness to accept its citizens who are illegally residing the territory of the European Union. The matter is mostly not about the agreement of the EU Commission but that of individual EU states,” Papikyan stressed.
