The number of tourists visiting Armenia grew by 16% this year
Within the first three months of 2018, a total of 346 thousand 458 inbound visits were recorded in Armenia, showing a 16,1% increase to compare with the indicated period of 2017.
As Panorama.am learnt from the National Statistical Service, 52 thousand 651 tourists or 26,3% of the total number accommodated in hotels, while the rest stayed at houses of relatives or rented apartments.
According to the released data, in the first trimester of the ongoing year 300 thousand 832 people left Armenia for tourism purposes, which is 13% increase to compare with the date of the previous year.
To note, according to the official data, 1 million 494 779 tourists visited Armenia last year, constituting a 8.7% growth against the number of the year 2016.
