Armenian customs officers thwart plastic containers smuggling attempt
Armenia’s State Revenue Committee has prevented a regular attempt of customs rules violation in the country by barring a person from smuggling plastic containers into Armenia.
The officers of the Gogavan-Privolnoye customs clearance on Sunday inspected a truck parked outside the customs control zone, revealing some 1,050 pieces of plastic containers with a total weight of 525 kilograms hidden from customs control.
The citizen was found to have imported the cargo from Georgia, failing to declare them in an attempt to avoid customs control, the State Revenue Committee’s press service told Panorama.am.
The committee has prepared a report on the incident, sealing the discovered product and the truck and sending them to the customs warehouse for further investigation.
