Armenian Genocide recognition process irreversible – Tigran Balayan
The international recognition of the Armenian Genocide is about prevalence of global values and a process of reaffirming human rights, Spokesperson at Armenia’s ministry of foreign affairs, Tigran Balayan told reporters at a briefing on Tuesday. Balayan’s comments came in request to comment on the recent developments around the Armenian genocide recognition by the Israeli Knesset.
“The process [of Genocide recognition] is aimed at preventing the repetition of such crimes, irrespective of inter-political context and geopolitical developments,” Balayan stressed. “The process is of paramount significance for Armenia, and we will continue playing a leading role in international efforts to this end,” said the MFA official.
In Balayan’s words, dozens of declarations and resolutions adopted by different countries and international organizations have come to demonstrate that the process of the Armenian genocide recognition is irreversible.
