Armenian defense minister to attend NATO summit on Afghanistan
An Armenian delegation led by Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan has left for Brussels to attend the summit of the defense ministers of countries contributing troops to NATO’s Resolute Support mission.
The defense ministers of NATO member and partner countries will discuss issues related to strengthening the security environment and stability in Afghanistan, the Defense Ministry’s press service told Panorama.am.
The participants will also have a chance to familiarize themselves with the vision of political and military authorities of NATO and Afghanistan on controlling the situation in the country.
The ministers are expected to develop a common approach toward dealing with the challenges.
During his trip, Minister Tonoyan is expected to hold meetings with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller, Greek Minister of National Defense Panagiotis Kammenos, Deputy Secretary General of the EU External Action Service Pedro Serrano and other officials.
