Armenian Investigative Committee chief steps down
Chairman of the Armenian Investigative Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan has submitted resignation.
Hovsepyan, who headed the structure for four years, announced his decision to step down at today’s meeting with the committee staff.
He thanked them for the joint work, meantime voicing hope that they would continue fulfilling their constitutional duties ‘with dedication and responsibility’ for the sake of Armenia’s prosperity and for ensuring justice in the country.
“I have decided to resign today. I wanted to inform all of you about it. I would like to thank all those who I have worked with for 45 years in the legal system,” the committee quoted him as saying.
Aghvan Hovsepyan also added that he would continue to actively engage in creative, scholarly, pedagogical and social activities.
Hovsepyan started serving in the legal system in 1974. He was appointed as Chairman of the Investigative Committee in 2014.
