Pashinyan meets with Putin in Moscow ahead of 2018 FIFA World Cup opening
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who has arrived in Russia to attend the opening of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, met today with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Considering the strategic nature of our relations and the wide scope of cooperation in different sectors, I think our meetings are always demanded,” the Kremlin quoted Vladimir Putin as saying during his opening remarks.
In Putin’s words, Russia confidently keeps its leading positing in the Armenia trade market, as the turnover increased by 30% last year with ongoing trends of growth.
Putin has attributed the growth to the import of agricultural product from Armenia as well as the country’s membership to the EAEU.
“I hope we will go forward in this direction,” the president has noted.
