Defense minister discusses situation at the border with Minsk Group Co-Chairs
Armenia’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan received today the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov, Stefan Visconti, Andrew Schofer and the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
As the ministry reports in a press statement, at the request of interlocutors, Minister Tonoyan briefed the situation across the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the Artsakh-Azerbaijani Line of Contact.
Minister Tonoyan noted that Azerbaijan periodically resorts to destabilizing actions at the border, namely applies snipers that result in new victims. They also reflected on the recent movement of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces near Nakhijevan.
Defense minister of Armenia stressed that our country remains committed to the unequivocal maintenance of the ceasefire regime through implementation of comprehensive confidence building measures.
It was stressed at the same time that Armenian Armed Forces follow the situation with vigilance and control any movement.
