Armenian official voices concerns to Belarusian envoy over arms sales to Azerbaijan
Secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council Armen Grigoryan has voiced the country’s concerns about the arms sales of Belarus to Azerbaijan at today’s meeting with the Belarusian ambassador.
The Armenian official stressed the country's weapon sales to Azerbaijan puts the efforts towards maintaining stability in the region at risk, he said in a post on Facebook.
“Today I held a meeting with Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk. I conveyed our deep concerns to the Ambassador over the fact that Belarus, being a friendly country to Armenia and having partnership obligations, sells arms to Azerbaijan, thus escalating arms race in the region, which jeopardizes the efforts aimed at maintaining the stability in the region,” reads the post.
