Analyst: Peskov tells the world Aliyev is not ready for talks
Political analyst Tevan Poghosyan is satisfied with the fact that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan posted a short video on Facebook on Thursday, briefing the people on his Moscow visit, pointing out to the productive meetings and positive aura in his contacts with the Russian leader, which, according to the expert, gives hope all the issues will eventually be settled.
Commenting on the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s statement saying no meeting was planned between the Armenian prime minister and Azerbaijani president, since the Armenian president was not in Moscow, Poghosyan, who heads the International Center for Human Development NGO, stressed the need to refrain from making subjective interpretations of the statement.
He said a very ‘interesting’ situation developed around Peskov’s statement, with some reports looking for internal disagreements, while the others blaming Russia. “I want our people and media to adopt new approaches toward using any piece of information,” he said.
“I have a different approach; we should be able to use any information to push forward our interests. I accept it as Peskov’s announcement to the world that Aliyev is not ready for negotiations, which once again stresses that Azerbaijan seeks only a military solution to the [Artsakh] conflict. We have to be ready for it and voice about it,” he said.
