Yerevan Pantomime Theatre to attend an international festival as a special guest
Yerevan State Theater of Pantomime is set to participate in the International Theatre Festival «Voices of History» to start in Russia’s Vologda on June 19. As Panorama.am from the Artistic Director at the theatre Jirayr Dadasyan, the theatre is attending the festival as a special guest and will perform “Ardalion.”
“Our performance will be played on June 20 in the open air on the walls of the Vologda Kremlin,” Dadasyan told Panorama.am, adding the main stage of the festival is the unique ensemble of the Vologda Kremlin.
As Dadasyan explained, the festival is specialized in historical dramas, therefore the Yerevan theatre which plays mostly scenic performances, couldn’t be included in the competitive program to the regret of themselves and the organizers.
To note, as the festival website reports, throughout its existence “Voices of History” has met with recognition from the theatre-going public and viewers not only in Russia, but in countries of the near abroad. Today this multinational project may safely be called the visiting card of the Vologda Region. Over the last years the Festival’s theatrical performances have been held not only in Vologda, but in Cherepovets and in Kirillov.
