Armenia not satisfied with Belarus’s response over arms supplies to Azerbaijan – spox
Armenia does not consider satisfactory the responses received by Belarus so far over its weapons supplies to Azerbaijan, Tigran Balayan, Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, told a news conference on Monday.
He said public and non-public activities are underway in this regard, referring to the supplies of Polonez Belarusian multiple launch rocket system to Azerbaijan.
“This is a systemic process, a process in different directions. The spokesman of Armenia’s National Security Council hosted the Belarussian ambassador to Armenia to ask him to convey our deepest concerns to his counterpart. These signals have also been sent to the Belarussian authorities at various levels,” he said.
Asked by a Panorama.am correspondent whether there are plans to withdraw Armenian ambassadors from specific countries in the near future, Tigran Balayan said the rotation of envoys and diplomats is a permanent process.
“But it’s not acceptable or correct to publicly discuss the withdrawal or appointment of this or that ambassador until the issuance of the respective presidential decree,” he added.
Commenting on the question over a possible meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers, he said the timeframes of such a meeting are not clarified yet.
“At the moment there is no clear arrangement on the foreign ministers’ meeting,” he said.
