Armenia’s electricity generation down 0.4% in Jan-April 2018
Armenia saw a slight decline in electricity generation in the first four months of 2018, according to the latest statistics.
A total of 2 667.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in the country in January-April 2018, down by 0.4% from the same period last year, the National Statistical Service (NSS) told Panorama.am.
According to the NSS figures, the electricity generation at thermal power plants grew by 2.4% in the reporting period, amounting to 983.4 million kilowatt-hours.
Meantime, the electricity production volumes at hydropower plants grew by 6.6% from January to April to stand at 697.6 million kilowatt-hours.
In the indicated period, the country produced 21.4 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy, an increase of 20.9% over the same period last year.
Armenia’s Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) generated 984.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in January-April 2018, down by 7.4% from 2017.
Armenia produced a total of 1.2 million kilowatt-hours of solar energy during the first four months of this year.
