Armenian police chief refutes reports on unsuccessful co-op with National Security Service
Armenian Police Chief Valery Osipyan has today denied rumors on unsuccessful cooperation with the National Security Service.
“I would say no, there is no such thing. And, I do not interact with reporters since many social network users criticise me for spending more time on news conferences than on work,” he said, meantime unveiling his intention to allocate more time to work from now on.
Commenting on Wednesday’s large-scale operations when police officers raided the houses of a group of crime figures, Osipyan said they were based on intelligence reports, stressing everyone is equal before the law.
“Criminal authorities are also humans who have rights and responsibilities. Everyone must obey the law regardless of anything. Everyone is equal before the law. The law is a supreme priority in our country and everyone must respect it,” he stressed.
