Working group on electoral reforms held first meeting
The working group on electoral reforms held its first meeting on Thursday at Armenia’s National Assembly. The group that comprises of three members from each of the parliamentary fractions, the government and civil society is set to discuss proposed amendments to the country’s Electoral Code. The first meeting was held behind closed doors.
Earlier, the parliament press service announced the names of the representatives of the Republican Party, Tsarukyan Alliance, ARF-Dashnaktsutyun and Yelq Alliance involved in the works of the group.
To remind, the government programmed - adopted by the National Assembly - contained a provision about holding snap parliamentary elections within one year at the least after necessary reforms to the Electoral Code.
