Artsakh downs 22 Azerbaijani drones, loses 3 over past 7 years – spox
The Azerbaijani military has lost 22 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) since it started to use them at the Artsakh contact line seven years ago, Senor Hasratyan, a spokesman of the Artsakh Defense Army, said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“Azerbaijan began using UAVs at the Artsakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact starting from 2011. Since then, a total of 22 drones belonging to the adversary have been downed as a result of preventive measures taken by the Defense Army, one of which on 12 September 2011 in the vicinities of Vazgenashen village of Martuni region,” he wrote.
“20 UAVs were shot down in the period from 2 to 30 April 2016, with one destroyed after the April operations. In the same period, the Artsakh Defense Army lost 3 drones,” the official detailed.
