Armenian soldier Gor Darmanyan who was wounded in 2015 while thwarting an Azerbaijani sabotage infiltration attempt in Artsakh has landed a job at the Armenian presidential office.
Gor has been hailed as hero to receive medals and orders for bravery by Artsakh and Armenia.
“Gor crushed the adversary, overcame his health problems and got a job. An exemplary attitude to our heroes,” Rector of the Yerevan State Medical University Armen Muradyan said is a post on Facebook, wishing the hero good luck in his new job.
He reminded that during his recent visit to the Homeland Defenders Rehabilitation Center, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian called on the state structures to employ the wounded soldiers.
Sarkissian visited the rehabilitation center on 29 May to personally congratulate servicemen undergoing treatment here on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First Republic.
He stressed the necessity of bringing the servicemen back to a dignified life after treatment. According to the president, after restoring health they should be offered employment through special arrangements so that servicemen are not dependent on different types of assistance but are able to earn their living.
