Reconstruction works launched in Syria’s Harasta
Construction and sanitation companies are working hard to create the necessary conditions in the Syrian town of Harasta, east of Damascus, for the return of thousands of residents displaced by the, local sources reported Thursday.
According to authorities, in order to carry out recovery works in Harasta, the second largest town in the Eastern Ghouta region, the central government allocated about $35 million USD.
The source stated that once basic services such as water and electricity have been restored in the town, the people who fled the war to other places would return.
Harasta, like other territories in Eastern Ghouta, including Jobar, Ain Tarma, Duma and the Palestinian Refugee Camp of Yarmouk, was recently freed from terrorist groups.
From these territories, extremist groups such as the Al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State have carried out hundreds of mortar attacks against Damascus, causing hundreds of deaths and injuries.
