Euronest PA approves plan to speed up EU-Armenia agreement ratification
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly adopted today an urgent resolution proposing to speed up the ratification of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
At today’s plenary session, the organization voted 41 to 5 with 5 abstentions to pass the resolution proposed by the head of Armenian delegation Armen Ashotyan, who also leads the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Citing the ratification of the agreement by the Armenian parliament in 2018 as yet another evidence of Armenia’s commitment to more strategic and ambitious relations with the EU, the resolution calls on the national parliaments of the EU member states to ratify the agreement without undue delay, the National Assembly’s press service told Panorama.am.
The document also attaches importance to completing the ratification process before the European Parliament elections scheduled for 2019.
