Magnitude 4.4 quake strikes Azerbaijan; felt in Artsakh
The Seismic Protection Service of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations registered a magnitude 4.4 earthquake in the territory of Azerbaijan at 2:20 a.m. local time on Wednesday (GMT 10:20 p.m.).
The service puts the epicentre 21km northwest off the Azerbaijani coastal city of Lenkoran at the depth of 10 km.
The tremor measured magnitude 6 points at the epicentre.
Jolts were also felt in Artsakh – with magnitude 2-3 in the southern town of Hadrut and with magnitude 2 in capital Stepanakert.
