President Sarkissian pays tribute to memory of Theodore Roosevelt
President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, who is paying a working visit to the United States, visited on Wednesday Theodore Roosevelt Island, a Memorial to America’s 26th president.
As the press department at the President’s Office reported, the president laid a wreath at the Memorial of the renowned state figure who advocated for the rights of Armenians and other Christian minorities in the Ottoman Empire during his presidency.
Roosevelt is also known for his bold position in protection of the people suffered in the Armenian Genocide.
