Armenian parliament to debate new Constitutional Court judge on 10 September
The Armenian National Assembly will hold debates on the election of a new judge for the Constitutional Court at its session on 10 September, Speaker Ara Babloyan said in a statement released by the parliament.
Citing Article 166.1 of Armenia’s Constitution, as well as Article 141.3 of the law “On the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”, the speaker informs that the General Assembly of Judges has nominated Administrative Court Judge Arman Dilanyan as its new candidate for the post.
The Armenian MPs failed to elect Emil Babayan and Elizaveta Danielyan as Constitutional Court judge at the May 4 and June 13 parliamentary sessions, respectively. Babayan had been nominated by the Armenian president, while Danielyan – by the General Assembly of Judges.
