Swedish envoy assures her country will not delay ratification of EU-Armenia deal
Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ara Babloyan expressed hope the Swedish parliament will ratify the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in the shortest period possible as he hosted today the country’s ambassador to Armenia.
Ambassador Martina Quick gave strong assurances her country will not delay the ratification of the document, the parliament’s press service told Panorama.am.
Touching upon the peaceful settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict, Speaker Babloyan stressed Armenia’s highly appreciates Sweden’s balanced stance on the conflict resolution.
He also reflected on the recent developments in Armenia, expressing confidence they will promote further expansion of relations between the two peoples.
Thankful for the joint work, Ms Quick also attached importance to strengthening the bilateral ties, as well as intensifying the inter-parliamentary cooperation. She noted Sweden appreciates the expansion of cooperation with Armenia in various spheres.
Speaking about the recent domestic political processes in Armenia, she expressed opinion that the further deepening of democracy will have a positive impact on the country's development.
