Armenia may receive Millennium Challenge program funding, Congresswoman Speier says
Armenia may be eligible for Millennium Challenge funding, a U.S. program designed to provide assistance to countries that demonstrate a strong commitment toward good governance and economic growth and reform. “The new Armenia deserves а wide assistance from America,” Jacqueline Kanchelian-Speier, the U.S. Representative for California's 14th congressional district, serving in Congress since 2008. stated in an interview with Voice of America.
In her words, currently relevant discussions are underway among members of the Congress and Executive power over including Armenia in the program. “That is a complex procedure to approve Armenia assistance, yet I am filled with mild optimism,” the congresswoman noted.
Jacqueline Speier’s added her optimism is based on the reality of the new Armenia.
