Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan announces resignation
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan has announced resignation in a message addressed to Yerevan residents. In the address posted on the Yerevan Municipality official website, Margaryan thanks all for cooperation and the joint work.
“Throughout the way we have passed together I have always tried to hear out each of you and to step by step settle the problems of the capital, to stay faithful to my promise and programs. In this regard I apologize to all those citizens with whom our common path is interrupted,” says Margaryan, addressing the residents of the capital.
Margaryan, 40, was re-elected Yerevan Mayor in 2017 by the Council of Elders of Yerevan where the then-ruling Republican Party holds majority.
