Armenia FM to meet with UN chief in New York – spox
Italian President Sergio Mattarella will arrive in Armenia on a two-day state visit on July 30 at the invitation of Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan told reporters on Monday.
He said the Italian president is expected to hold meetings with the top Armenian leadership on the sidelines of his visit.
The spokesman also informed that an Armenian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has today departed for New York to present Armenia’s first Voluntary National Review on implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals․
“That report is a good opportunity for the country to evaluate its progress towards sustainable development goals on its own,” Balayan said.
Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is also among the delegation members, is due to meet with UN Secretary General António Guterres in New York, he spokesman detailed.
He added other meetings of the foreign minister is also on the visit agenda.
