Defense minister: Armenia to continue supporting the Syrian people
Armenia will continue supporting the friendly people of Syria through providing humanitarian assistance, the country’s Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan stated on Friday at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to Armenia Mohammad Ahmad Haj Ibrahim.
As the ministry reported in a release, the Ambassador briefed Minister Tonoyan on the military and economic situation in the Arab Republic and expressed gratitude to the Armenian side for the regular batch of humanitarian assistance delivered to the Syrian people.
Issues related to the Armenian community in Syria as well as ways of Armenia’s possible support to the community were discussed during the meeting.
