“Armath” students to represent Armenia at FIRST Global Robotics Competition in Mexico
The students of “Armath” Engineering laboratories are set to represent Armenia at the FIRST Global International Robotics competition to be held on August 16-18 in Mexico City. As Mr. Karen Vardanyan, the Executive director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) informed during a press conference, Armenian students have acquired enough skills and knowledge in robotics to be able to secure excellent results in the international arena.
To note, the initiative is sponsored by Ucom. “Our company has always been next to Armath laboratories within its social responsibility policy, aiming not only to expand the opportunities for students involved in engineering, but also promote the concept of getting engineering education exported from Armenia,“ detailed Hayk Yesayan, Co-Founder and Director General at Ucom, who was present at the press conference.
To note, this year FIRST Global, a STEM-focused international nonprofit that organizes an annual international robotics competition for high-school students from around the world, announced that the FIRST Global Challenge 2018 will convene participants from more than 160 countries, to solve energy-efficiency problems with robots created by student participants.
