Italy’s Mattarella arrives in Armenia on state visit
Italian President Sergio Mattarella has arrived in Armenia on a two-day state visit together with his daughter Laura Mattarella at the invitation of Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
The president-led delegation includes Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Enzo Moavero Milanesi, as well as other top officials, the Armenian presidential office told Panorama.am.
Later on Monday, the Armenian and Italian presidents are expected to hold a meeting at the Presidential Palace.
In the framework of his state visit, President Mattarella is set to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian, Speaker of the National Assembly Ara Babloyan and His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.
The delegation headed by the Italian leader will visit Tsitsernakaberd to lay a wreath at the memorial dedicated to the Armenian Genocide victims.
