Armenian students win 3 gold and 1 silver at International Math Olympiad
Four Armenian students, representing the Yerevan State University (YSU),
won four medals at International Mathematics Competition, held from the July 22-28 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.
As the ministry of science and education reported in a release, Arsen Hambardzumyna, Gevorg Mnatsakanyan, Albert Gevorgyan conquered gold, while Vahagn Altunyan – silver medals.
According to the release, in the team contest the YSU team has taken the fourth spot which is an unpreceded result with the previous 7th place recorded in the previous competition.
To note, the International Mathematics Competition is the world’s largest mathematical contest for students and is organised by the University College of London. It has been running since 1994 with the participation of leading US and European Universities.
