Armenian-Italian cultural center opens in Yerevan
Together with Armenian President Armen Sarkissian and his spouse Nune Sarkissian, President of Italy Sergio Mattarella, who is in Armenia on a two-day state visit, and his daughter Laura Mattarella attended today the official opening of the Armenian-Italian Regional Center for Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.
Armenia’s Minister of Culture Lilit Makunts and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Enzo Moavero Milanesi delivered opening remarks at the event held at the National Gallery of Armenia.
The Armenian and Italian leaders later unveiled the center’s name board and toured the area, the presidential press service told Panorama.am.
Founded by a joint initiative of Armenia and Italy, the center aims to implement various programs (including regional ones) of preserving and restoring cultural heritage.
