Armenian cyclists to compete at European, world C’ships
Two leading cyclists will represent Armenia at the European and world championships scheduled to be held in August.
European champion and World Cup silver medallist Edgar Stepanyan, named among the top 10 cyclists of 2017, is set to compete at the European Track Cycling Championship to be held in Glasgow, UK from 2 to 7 August as part of a grand sports event expected to bring together athletes from some 50 European countries.
Stepanyan has already left for Glasgow led by head coach of the Armenian cycling team Armen Gyozalyan, the Cycling Federation of Armenia told Panorama.am.
Afterwards, the Armenian athlete will take part in the U23 European Championship scheduled for Switzerland from 21 to 26 August.
Another top Armenian cyclist Taron Nikoghosyan will depart for Switzerland together with his personal coach Andranik Arustamyan for the Junior World Championships to be held from 15 to 19 August.
