Number of khachkars renovated in Kotayk province
Four Armenian khachkars - carved memorial steles bearing a cross - have been renovated in the backyard and the cemetery of Hrazdan town in Kotayk province of Armenia. The initiative was carried out in the scope of “New Life to Khachkars” state programme, implemented by the Service for the Protection of Historical Environment affiliated with the ministry of culture.
As the agency reports, overall 11 medieval monuments have been reinstalled in the course of the programme with scheduled renovation works of more five cross-stones in the area adjacent to Neghuts Church of Arzakan.
