Yuri Khachaturov back to Moscow to take full range of duties as CSTO Secretary General
The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Yuri Khachaturov has returned to Moscow and taken up full range of his duties, Press Secretary at the CSTO Vladimir Zaynedtinov has announced in a statement posted on the organization’s official website.
To remind, the Special Investigative Committee of Armenia has pressed charges against the acting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Yuri Khachaturov as part of the criminal investigation into the so-called tragic events of March 1, 2008 - the post presidential election crackdown in Armenia during which eight civilians and two police officers were killed.
On July 28, A first-instance court ruled to grant bail to Khachaturov. Meanwhile
Armenia proposed member states of CSTO to start a procedure of replacing the organization’s Secretary General.
