Armenian chess players start Riga festival with victories
The Armenian chess players have claimed victories at Round 1 of Riga Technical University Open 2018 chess festival, which kicked off in Latvia on Monday, 6 August, and runs until 12 August.
The festival has brought together a total of 260 participants, including 24 GMs, from 37 countries.
Three chess players represent Armenia at the Riga festival – GMs Robert Hovhannisyan, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan and Manuel Petrosyan, the Chess Federation of Armenia told Panorama.am.
The second and third rounds of the chess tournament are scheduled to be held today, the federation said.
