Armenia’s Hovhannes Gabuzyan declared winner at Washington International
Armenian grandmaster Hovhannes Gabuzyan has been named the winner of the Washington International Chess Tournament which brought together 72 players and 22 grandmasters this year.
As the chess federation of Armenia reports, Gabuzyan who was the sole representative of Armenia at the tournament, scored 7.5 points out of 9 and was placed the first, one point ahead of Russia’s Andrey Stukopin.
Due to the victory, the Armenian has improved his personal rating by 22 points, the source said.
