Armenia ready to host La Francophonie summit at highest level, officials assure
The Armenian government is going to hold the 17th Summit of the International Organization of La Francophonie at the highest level, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said at today’s Cabinet meeting.
“We are fully confident that our preparatory works ensure the proper and quality holding of the summit,” the minister said, adding a large group of people is involved in the summit preparations.
Mnatsakanyan also thanked all the partners that coordinate the works. He says a great number of high-level delegations have already confirmed their participation in the event to be held in capital Yerevan in October.
The minister also reported a progress in terms of managing the content of the summit. “I believe we will ensure an effective summit also in that regard, since we have all the necessary resources and capacities for it,” he stressed.
Vice Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted for his part that they are holding weekly meetings with the preparatory staff of La Francophonie summit, expressing a special gratitude to all the staff members and assuring Armenia will organize ‘an unprecedented summit expected to bring together the leaders of dozens of states.’
Police Chief Valery Osipyan assured that they are ready to organize a unique event in the capital. “Our capacities and resources are enough to ensure public order and security at a high level starting from the airport,” he said.
