Armenia's economic activity index grows by 9.3% in January-July 2018
According to the data released by Armenia's National Statistical Service (NSS), the economic activity index (EAI) of Armenia increased by 9.3% in January-July 2018 to compare with the same period of 2017.
According to the NSS, production volume rose by 8%, to compare with June 2018 and deceased by 11.1% against the production volume of July of the previous year.
The construction volumes saw the utmost growth, amounting to 10.4% for the indicated period.
As to the industry sphere, Armenia’s industrial output grew by 4.3% in January-July which is 3.4% more than the growth registered in June and 7.3% more – registered in July of the previous year.
Compared to data of the previous year the gross agricultural output grew by 4.6% in January-July 2018, while the electricity production volumes recorded 0.8% increase.
The trade turnover increased by 17.3% in the first seven months rose by 8.9%. The consumer prices, according to the NSS statistics, also increased by 2.4% compared to January -July 2017.
As for the external trade turnover, it rose by 26.8% in January- July 2018 with the exports increasing by 17.3% and imports by 32.1%.
According to the NSS data, the average monthly salary in Armenia rose by 4%, constituting 3% growth in the annual term.
