Armenia sees strong growth in carpet production in first half-year
Armenia’s carpet production recorded a significant increase in the first half of 2018, the Statistical Committee told Panorama.am.
The country manufactured a total of 12.4 tons of carpets and carpet coverings from January to June this year, up by 72.2 percent from the same period last year, when some 7.2 tons of carpets were produced in Armenia.
Carpet production volumes constituted mostly a decrease in 2017, yet recorded increase per annum. Namely, 19.8 tons of carpets and carpet coverings were manufactured in Armenia last year, showing a rise of 10 percent from 2016.
