Parliament passes bill on additional water intake from Lake Sevan
The Armenian National Assembly passed on Tuesday in the first reading the draft law on additional water intake in the amount of 40 million cum from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes.
Under the new bill on making supplements to the law on approving the programs toward the restoration, preservation, reproduction and use of the ecosystem of Lake Sevan, the water intake from the lake will make up 210 million cum in 2018 instead of the former 170 million.
The draft law passed the parliamentary reading with 68 votes for and only one against.
The Armenian government unanimously adopted the proposed bill at its session on 23 August.
